Sue Wallingford
Marilyn Sue (Parman) Wallingford, 84, of Platte City, MO passed away August 15, 2026.
She was born on May 14, 1942, to Mark Meredith Parman and Dorothy Evelyn (Faucett) Parman in Kansas City, MO.
The family moved around the state several times during her childhood but eventually arrived in Platte County where she attended and graduated from Platte City High School. It was there that she met Billy Ray Wallingford and they were married on May 26, 1961. Platte City was their home for nearly 65 years.
Sue was the manager of Cuttings United Super grocery store in Platte City for several years in the late 1970s and early 1980s, up to its ultimate closure. She was later the bookkeeper/title clerk for various car dealerships.
Sue enjoyed her many pets, dogs and cats, and caring for her husband, family, and home. Going to the lake, road trips, and following the children’s and grandchildren’s sports and school events kept their schedule full until recent years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Dorothy Parman, her husband Bill, and her brother Robert Dwayne Parman.
Sue is survived by her children Bob (Melissa) Wallingford, Deanna (Duane) Sellars, Meredith (Mark) Tolliver, her grandchildren Cody (Johnna) Wallingford, Lyndsie Sellars, Joshua (Brittany) True, Taylor (Nick ) Kramer, Jake (Kathy) Wallingford, Collin (Olivia) Tolliver, Delaney Tolliver, Carrie (Cody) Lafflin, and Billy Wallingford; great grandchildren Garrett, Whitman, Clay, Mac, Ethan, and Cal; her brother Don (Susan) Parman, sister Marka (Jim) Barker, sisters in law Patty (Ali) Esfandiary and Bonnie Wallingford; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 21st the First Baptist Church of Platte City, Platte City, MO.
Burial: Platte City Cemetery, Platte City, MO.
