Shirley Miller

Shirley June Miller, 90, of Smithville, MO passed away November 20, 2024.

She was born June 17, 1934, to James Lloyd and Lillian (Asher) Allmon in Smithville, MO where she grew up and graduated from Smithville High School in 1952.

On June 3, 1955, she was united in marriage to Harold Ray Miller. After their marriage they lived in rural Smithville where they made their home. Harold passed away on March 6, 2017.

She was a lifelong, active member of the Little Platte Baptist Church where she played the organ and piano for 76 years. Shirley enjoyed her flowers, going to the Smithville Senior Center and most of all, her family.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Harold Miller; her parents Lloyd and Lillian Allmon; brother James Allmon and wife Dorothy; sister Martha Jane Fales and husband Harold; and grandson Kyle VanWinkle.

She is survived by her daughters Linda Miller; Cindy VanWinkle and husband Dean; grandchildren Jeremy Sweatman, Jared (Christi) Sweatman, Kelly Lyon, Jennifer (Pondrell) Robinson, Heather (Chris) Moore, Tiffany McElhany, Klint VanWinkle, Michael McElhany, Amanda McElhany, and Eddie McElhany; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law John W. Miller and wife Louetta; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation: 10:00-11:00 with Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 26, 2024, at Little Platte Baptist Church Edgerton, MO
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery, Ridgely, MO
Donations may be made to the Smithville Senior Center

    I knew Shirley and Harold from the cafe., At Hillside. She was a kind soul. I am.
    Sorry for any pain you may be having. I believe Shirley lived a full life., 76 yrs for piano. That is a testament in itself. GOD 🙌 BLESS The Stottlemyre Family ( All these years I did not know her sister was martha) My condolences to Martha & Harold Fales
