Myrtle Auxier
Myrtle Leota Auxier, 85 of Kansas City, MO, passed away October 6, 2025.
She was born on March 25, 1940, to Orval Chesley Richards, Sr., and Mildred Edna (Hersh) Richards in St. Joseph, MO. Myrtle grew up in Andrew County and graduated from Savannah High School.
On June 12, 1959, she was united in marriage to Lowell Roger Auxier. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph and moved to Gower in 1963 where they made their home and raised their family. In 1991, they moved to Kansas City, MO.
Myrtle worked for the East Buchanan School District as a teacher’s aide for several years. She loved sewing and crafting and most of all spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Orval and Mildred Richards; her brother Orval Richards, Jr.; and her sister Florene Robertson.
Myrtle is survived by her husband Lowell Auxier; children Roger (Bonnie) Auxier, Rick (Jean) Auxier and Cheryl (John) Roush; grandchildren Emily (Joseph) Howell, Zeb (Aimee) Auxier, Sara (Seth) Parker, Ben Auxier, Hana (Luke) Thomas, Nathan Roush, Alyssa Roush, Luke Roush, Erika Roush, and Jessica Roush; 12 great-grandchildren; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, October 13th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower.
Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 14th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to St. Jude’s Hospital.
