Mike Andrus

Michael James Andrus
June 11, 1965-October 10, 2026

Mike was born on June 11, 1965, in the Kansas City area where he spent his entire life. He graduated from Platte City High School in 1984. He passed away peacefully on October 10, 2026 after a valiant fight against cancer.

He was preceded in death by a few but leaves behind a multitude. Those surviving include his wife of 30+ years her three sons and grandchildren. Also, many brothers and sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and tons of friends.

He devoted most of his working life to the Deffenbaugh/Waste Management team completing over 37 years of service.

In his spare time he enjoyed playing pool, golfing, bowling, riding motorcycles, camping, hunting, watching sports and just “hanging out” with friends and family.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville, MO.
