Mary Lee Anderson

Mary Lee Anderson, 90, of Dearborn, MO passed away, August 24, 2026.

She was born on May 15, 1936, to Lewis and Gertie Lee (Herndon) Turner in Camden Point, MO. She attended Dearborn High School and graduated from North Platte High School where she was a member of the only undefeated girls’ basketball team in school history.

On December 9, 1954, she was united in marriage to Forrest Anderson. After their marriage they lived near Dearborn where they farmed and in 1956, they moved to Dearborn where they made their home. Her husband, Forrest, preceded her in death on December 20, 2000.

Mary Lee and Forrest operated an oil delivery business for many years.

She was an active member of the New Market Christian Church. Mary Lee served as an election judge and was a volunteer for the North Platte Living History. She was also a member of the Dearborn Alumni Association and participated in Fun and Friendship in Dearborn. She was well known for her eight layered colored Jello and her square chocolate chip cookies.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill Turner, John Turner and Simeon Turner, stepsister, Norma Jean Cockriel and stepbrother, Truman Lee Buckler, and brother-in-law, George Anderson.

Mary Lee is survived by her children, Elaine (David) Applebury and Myron (LaVonda) Anderson; grandchildren, Sarah Anderson, Abby Anderson, Joshua (Meghan) Anderson, Kelsey Applebury, Hannah Anderson, and Caleb Anderson; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Arlene (Jerry) Mrkvicka and Darlene Buckler; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 31st at New Market Christian Church, New Market, MO.
Visitation: 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30th at New Market Christian Church, New Market, MO.
Burial: Dearborn Cemetery, Dearborn, MO.
