Marjorie Kirtley

Marjorie Kirtley, 81, of Union Star, MO passed away on November 27, 2024 after a short battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

She was born on February 16, 1943 to Roy and Ida (Webster) Parsons in Spencer, Iowa. Marjorie grew up near Gillett Grove, Iowa where she graduated from high school.

On June 9, 1963 she was united in marriage to Samuel Kirtley. After their marriage they lived on the family farm where they made their home.

Marjorie was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of King City.

Marjorie cleaned homes for several years in the Union Star area. She loved farming, gardening, canning and cooking.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Frank Parsons; daughter Cindy Beasterfeld and her son, Terry Kirtley.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Sam; children, Rana (Mark) Thygerson, Susann Buie, Dennis (Nancy) Kirtley, and Michele Kirtley; daughter-in-law, Lisa Kirtley; son-in-law, Dale Beasterfeld; twenty-seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Wilson; sister-in-law, Norma Jean Parsons, brothers-in-law, Jim Kirtley and Bob Kirtley; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

The family will host a Memorial Service at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 8th at First Baptist Church in King City with visitation one hour prior.
Private Family Inurnment will be held at a later date at Union Star Cemetery.

    Marge was my friend for many years. We spent many a night at ball games together. I will miss her just talked to hear a week ago. We both have lost children she understood the pain and I hers. Love to you my friend I will see you soon
