Lewis Moore

Lewis Calvin Moore, 103, of Trimble, MO passed away August 10, 2026.

He was born on May 4, 1923, to John Misner and Byrdie Myrtle (Maxey) Moore in rural Arley, MO. He grew up near Smithville and attended Smithville High School.

On September 16, 1944, he was united in marriage to Daisy Harris. After their marriage they farmed near Paradise and Grayson and lived in Grayson for 20 years. In 1976, they moved to Trimble, MO. In 2005, after Daisy passed away, Lewis moved to the Villages, Florida with his daughter Connie and her husband Bruce Marx.

Lewis worked for J.C. Ranch in Trimble, H&H Halferty and Sons in Smithville and was a school bus driver for Plattsburg for 8 years. He was also employed by Laidlaw at KCI Airport hauling employees.

Lewis was a member of the Mt. Olivet Christian Church in Smithville and the First Baptist Church at the Villages, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents John and Byrdie Moore; his wife Daisy Moore and his only sister Johnnie Maxine Moore Hall.

Lewis is survived by his son John Allen Moore and wife Christina of Kansas City, KS; his daughter Connie Elizabeth Moore Marx of the Villages, FL; his granddaughter Kallie Moore and husband Keegan Serig of Missoula, MT; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 pm with Funeral Services at 2:00 pm Tuesday, August 18th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO
Burial: Grayson Cemetery, Trimble, MO
