Larry Miller
Larry Miller, 78, of Plattsburg, MO passed away, March 31, 2026.
He was born on July 14, 1947, to Claudie and Esther (Sweat) Miller in Stanberry, MO. Larry grew up in Stanberry and graduated from Stanberry High School in 1965. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam War from 1966-1969.
On July 10, 1971, he was united in marriage to Judy (McGaughey) Miller. From this union they were blessed with two children. After their marriage, they lived in Savannah and St. Joseph and in 1993 moved to Plattsburg.
Larry worked for MoDOT for 30 years and retired as the Supervisor at the Plattsburg Barn in 2002. He also farmed for the 4D Ranch for 22 years. Larry loved to fish, go camping, and they enjoyed spending the winter in Texas after their retirement. He especially cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Plattsburg where he faithfully served as a Deacon and on many committees.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Lila Sue Laizure, and several beloved brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and extended family.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; children, Andy (Kristi) Miller and Gina (Forrest) Schubert; godchildren, Tim (Michelle) McGaughey and Becky (Dave) Hoffman; grandchildren, Baylee, Taylor, Kendall, Brooks (Kristin), Adeline, Gracelynn and Blake; great-grandson, Zyaire; sister, Lula (John) Locklin; brother, Mickey Miller; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3rd at the First Baptist Church in Plattsburg with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower, MO.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.

Larry and I went to school together. We also were in Vietnam at the same base camp for a short period of time. Larry was a very nice guy and easy going. My family and I are so sorry for your loss?
