In Remembrance Of

Joyce Adams
Joyce Adams, beloved wife, Mom, Nano and friend passed away peacefully at her home on September 28th, 2025. She was 94.
Joyce was born on January 19th, 1931 in Dover, MO to Arthur & Edna Jaspering. She was the oldest of 3 daughters. She married Francis Adams on July 16th, 1951. He pre-deceased her in 2008.
They made their home in Gower in the early 60’s. Joyce worked for over 30 years at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville, MO with the majority of those years working in the ER. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in St. Joseph, Mo and enjoyed sewing prayer quilts with the ladies quilting group of the church. She liked to work in the yard, loved growing flowers and being connected in her grandchildren’s lives.
She is survived by her son, Winston of Gower and daughter Brenda of Concord, North Carolina, her son-in-law, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild also residing in North Carolina.
Joyce was known for her unwavering kindness, strength and sense of humor. She had many unique references that we fondly called, ‘Nano sayings’. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her family.
A private graveside service will be held for the family at the Converse Cemetery in Lathrop, MO on October 11th. Afterwards, a celebration of life drop in luncheon for anyone that would like to pay their condolences or share a story will be held at the Gower Lodge from 12:00-3:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in her memory or to the Gower Lodge.

So sorry for your loss. Our mother, Erma Hunt thought dearly of her & spoke often about her. She was a wonderful lady who will be missed by all who loved her. We remember growing up how kind she was to us.
