Hazel Meade
Hazel Meade, 81, of St. Joseph, MO passed away, September 12, 2025.
She was born on October 7, 1943 to Charles Raymond and Agnes Louise (Frogge) Keyes in St. Joseph, MO. Hazel grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Central High School in 1961. She attended the Bethany Hospital School of Nursing.
On November 25, 1967 she was united in marriage to Darrel Meade. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph and in 1970 moved to Gower where they made their home. Her husband, Darrel, preceded her in death on January 14, 2008.
Hazel was a registered nurse and retired from Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was an active member of the Gower Christian Church. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Piece Corps Quilters Guild.
Hazel was also preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Bill) Terry; son, Joe (Aspen) Meade; four grandchildren, Sadie, Carson, Brooklynne, and McKenna; sister, Robbie (Richard) Steinberg; several nieces and nephews including Jodie Parkhurst and Ray Aspey, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, September 15th at the Gower Christian Church AFC Building.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 16th at the Gower Christian Church AFC Building.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.
The family would encourage people to wear Hazel’s favorite color purple.
Donations may be made to the Gower Christian Church.
