Gary Hagg

Gary Lee Hagg, 88, of Maryville, MO passed away, August 14, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, MO.

He was born on February 17, 1938 on his grandfather Neely’s farm near Guilford to Alfred Edward and Florene May (Neely) Hagg. Gary graduated from Graham High School in 1958 and married the love of his life, Helen Darlene Vance, on May 1, 1960. They were the parents of Terri Ranae and David Allen.

Gary farmed in the Graham area for many years before moving to Maryville where he worked as a fireman for the City of Maryville until retirement. After his retirement, he continued working summers for the City of Maryville, mowing grass at Mozingo Lake. He and Darlene loved spending winter months in Texas.

Gary was preceded in death by his wife, Darlene; and his daughter, Terri Kretzchmer.

He is survived by his son, David; granddaughters, Veronica Malone (Teron Ray), Independence, MO and Tabitha (T.C.) Albert, Fate, TX; great-grandchildren, Ka’Lia Ray, Independence, MO, Sydney Brenden and Kenzie Albert, Fate, TX; brother, Jerry (Jane) Hagg and family, Dearborn, MO; sister, Jeanean Totten and family, Maryville, MO; sisters-in-law, Marsha (David) Wilmes and family, Maryville, MO, Linda (Curt) Jenkins and family, Ravenwood, MO; brother-in-law, Gerald Herndon and family; many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

Gary has been cremated and he will be buried at the Prairie Home Cemetery in Graham, MO.
