Ernie Mallen
Everett Ernest Mallen was born on October 11, 1945 in St. Joseph, MO, the son of Eugene and Mildred (Hughes) Mallen. He attended Stewartsville High School and graduated in 1963. His career was with the former Braniff Airlines and later at the Kansas City Star.
On December 17th, 2004, he married Kathi Miller. She was the love of his life. She died on January 9th of this year.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers David, Marvin, and Jimmy.
Survivors include his sister Ann (Jim) Wells, children Tim (Becky) Mallen, Angela (Nick) Watson, Erin (Mark) Stover, and Tracy (Brad) Wilson, along with six grandchildren, Avery, Owen, Loren, Olivia, Joseph, and Ella.
Ernie was a true friend to all. Ernie loved being a husband, father, and grandpa. He loved traveling with Kathi all over the country. He loved watching his grandkids play sports, swim at the lake, and taking them around the farm on little adventures. These memories will always be treasured. Thank you, Ernie, Dad, Papa for being the best!
Visitation: 3:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 12th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Ernie and I have been friends since we worked together since 1966 at Braniff Airlines in Kansas City and Dallas Texas. There were three of that done things together in life. We had many good times together and tried to be there for each other. He will be missed more than you expect.

I’m so very sorry for your loss. I was shocked when Becky told me that your dad passed. I was waiting for the funeral arrangements, hoping to not only offer my condolences but to give you a big hug. Unfortunately, I have a very large commitment on Sunday afternoon and won’t be able to attend. I will always remember your dad because of his great big smile and he was always happy to see me and my family.He will be missed and remembered by so many people
