In Remembrance Of

Dylan Mayfield
Dylan Douglas Mayfield, 18, passed away unexpectedly in a tragic car accident in the early morning hours of February 28, 2026. Dylan was born on May 12, 2007, to Kenny Mayfield and Melanie Griffith in Kansas City, Missouri.
Growing up he was a happy-go-lucky kid. His curious mind had him taking things apart to see how they worked and putting them back together including the family vacuum. He also enjoyed working on computers. Video gaming was a big part of his teen years often competing online with his brothers against other teams. He was passionate about his music, even getting a tattoo of his favorite band. Dylan also loved dogs, taking his parents’ two dachshunds with him when he moved out.
Dylan, affectionately nicknamed Dilly, was a wonderful big brother who could always be counted on to watch over and protect his younger brothers and sisters. He was great to his parents and could always be counted on to help – even cleaning house.
As a graduate of Oak Park High School, Dylan was quick to make many new and lasting friends. He was loyal to a fault and would do anything for his friends and enjoyed hanging out with them. School is where he met his girlfriend of three and a half years, Julianna Verhulst. Dylan graduated high school early and was ready to hit life running. He worked several jobs, but was recently Door Dashing, which he really enjoyed and was very good at. He was so proud to let his parents know he was making good money.
Dylan was so excited to get his driver’s license, knowing that meant new freedom and opportunities. He was always glad to run errands, no questions asked. He had a great love for cars. He owned a 1995 Chevy Camaro that he was rebuilding. He loved his family. At Christmas, even though he had a girlfriend, he came home on Christmas Eve to wake up with the family to open presents.
Dylan will be missed terribly by his father Kenny Mayfield (Lindsay Inlow) and his brothers Lucas, Bryce and sisters Annabelle, Kinleigh, and Remington; his mother Melanie Griffith, sisters Kasey, Kinleigh and Harper; grandparents Douglas Mayfield, Lori Vega, Bruce Inlow, Mike and Kathy Sims; great grandmother, Catherine Roberts, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by grandparents Mark & Sharon Griffith and great grandfather, George Roberts.
A Celebration of Life is being planned for family and friends. Memorial donations may be made to the family through Venmo (@Lindsay-inlow-1).
