Deborah Garrison
Deborah Luann Garrison, 65, of Smithville, MO passed away October 26, 2025.
Deborah Luann Garrison, the daughter of Rev. Gerald Alonzo Garrison and Rev. Leota May Fern Fleetwood Garrison was born on July 21, 1960, in Kansas City, MO. She was placed on the cradle roll at Bethany Baptist Church at the age of six. She dedicated her life to Jesus and became a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
She attended Northeast Senior High School and graduated in 1978. Deborah continued her education majoring in Music Education at Mozarkain Southwest Baptist Church in Bolivar, MO for 2 years. During the course of her life, Debroah was employed in several occupations including certified nurses aide, store clerk, market researcher, security officer, plastics trimmer operator and school bus driver.
She was a past honored Queen in the International Order of the Job’s Daughters Bethel #33, A past officer of the Northeast Chapter O.E.S. #300, a past officer of KC Conclave #4 True Kindred, and an Ordained Minister with the Evangelists Messenger’s Association. She also attended several area full gospel, Nondenominational and Pentecostal Churches and was the Director of Music at Paradise. In September of 1985, Deborah rededicated her heart to Jesus and experienced a Rebirth.
She was preceded in death by her parents Rev. Gerald Garrison and Rev. Leota Garrison and her brother Marion Dwight Garrison.
Deborah is survived by her nephew Rickey Garrison; nieces Barbara Barker and Josette Willoughby; her cat Heidi; several great-nieces and great-nephews; other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on November 10th at the Smithville Housing Authority Center 161 E 1st Smithville, MO 64089.

I’m going to miss my double cousin. Her mom and my mom were sisters and they married brothers, my dad and Uncle Gerald. I no she has finally made it home to be with her mom, dad and brother. I no she’s no longer in pain and finally resting in peace. I miss you already and our phone calls. I love you!!

So sorry to hear this about Deborah. We were classmates in college. We lived on the same floor in the dorm our freshman year. Deborah could be a lot of fun! I know she also had many struggles in her adult life. Rest in the arms of Jesus, my friend.

Debbie and I met at Paradise Baptist Church in 2012. and became fast friends…..she had a love for the lord …KNEW HER BIBLE….. was a great musician piano and guitar …. I had the privilege of helping Debbie get to doctors appointments when she couldn’t drive…. We watched fireworks together…sang together and prayed together… RIP Debbie you are with your lord and savior…until me meet again 💔
