Deanna Boydston
Deanna W. Boydston, 86, of Smithville, MO passed away June 22, 2025.
She was born on July 2, 1938, to James Dee and Blanche (Reynolds) White in St. Joseph, MO. Deanna attended North Platte Elementary School and later Platte County High School. She then attended William Jewell College in Liberty, MO.
Deanna worked as a cardiology Technician at Spelman Hospital in Smithville and St. Mary’s Hospital in Kansas City and Blue Springs. She was most proud of being a mother to her 5 children, and a Nana to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She joined the Camden Point Baptist Church when she was 9 years old and later transferred her membership to the First Baptist Church of Smithville. Deanna was also a 4-H Member, Smithville Elementary School PTA where she served as President from 1968-1969, was a TOPS organizer and leader in 3 Chapters, attended the Jerry Litton’s 6th District Congressional Club trip to Washington, D.C., and was a Kansas City Royals fan, attending a World Series Game in 2015.
Deanna was preceded in death by her son Brian Boydston; grandson Brian Tyler Boydston; her parents Dee and Blanche White; and her siblings and their spouses Martha and MackWilson, Maxine and Judson Davis, JR White, Herman and Jeanee White and Naomi and Buddy Johnson; brothers-in-law Joel Boydston and John Boydston.
She is survived by her children Becky Boydston (John), Jamie Boydston (Cindy), Jeff Boydston (Karen), and Brenda Waters (Steven); grandchildren Brian Baker (Adrian), Kelsey Sherwood (Kyle), Justine Lane (Todd), Eric Boydston, Natalie Boydston, Dylan Boydston, Alexis Clark, Dora Morgan (Gabe), Marshall Waters, Jamie Waters, and Elizabeth Ballard (James); great-grandchildren Wyatt, Addy, Summer, Charlie, Evelyn, Tori, Kylea, Olivia, Myla, Jackson, and Rylie; sister-in-law Trish Jordan (James); several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m. with Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 28th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville. Deanna requested for everyone to wear KC Royals gear.
Family burial will be held at Paradise Cemetery, Smithville.
In lieu of flowers, donations may the American Heart Association.
