Clare Stock
Clare Jean Stock, 90, of Kansas City, MO passed away April 17, 2026.
She was born on January 30, 1936, to Roscoe and Ozella M. (Rusher) Cole in Osawatomie, KS. Clare grew up in Buckner, MO and in 1954, she graduated from Washington High School in Kansas City, KS.
On December 18, 1954, she was united in marriage to Lloyed Everrett Baxter. After their marriage they lived in Wyandotte County Kansas. He passed away on February 15, 1972. Clare later married Lawrence Edward Stock in 1977. After their marriage they lived in Claycomo, MO where they made their home. Lawrence passed away on July 17, 1985.
Clare loved being a homemaker, cooking, fishing and most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roscoe and Ozella Cole; her brothers Bill Cole, Bud Cole, Bob Cole and Jim Cole; and her sister Judy Cole-Piveral.
Clare is survived by her son Michael L. Baxter; her grandchildren Michael R. Baxter and Tara Baxter; great-grandchildren Liberty Baxter and Ariel Baxter, Nevaeh Scobee, Elizabeth Cady, Seana Cady, Lilyana Baxter, Adalynn Cady, Iris Cady, and Logan Baxter; her honorary granddaughter Becky Crouch; honorary great-grandchildren Ruben Salazar, Jr., Alysia Salazar Nevaeh McShannon; her “bestie” Bitsy Cady; other relatives and many friends.
Graveside Services: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 29th at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 701 N 94th St. Kansas City, KS 66112.

Ive known clare jean my whole life. she was so much fun! Sissy,me, and mikey always had the bestest times at her house in claycomo. i wont ever forget our sleep overs at grandmas house. thats where me and sissy discovered scary movies and freddy couger became our favorite scary movie. we were always laughing and just having the bestest times at grandmas. She was full of joy and spread her love.

Nothing but fond memories playing risk in the kitchen and chowing down on burritos or the best sandwiches ever made, for some reason they always tasted better when she made them. G-Ma was the best !

Clare I did get to meet her, she was a sweet little lady that was loved by many…. I know your hearts are broken at this time, I’m sorry for that. just know that your granny great granny great-great granny is in a better place… my heart goes out to the family and all the friends and acquaintances..👣🫶🙏
