In Remembrance Of

Brint Connett

Brint Connett, 69, of Gower, MO passed away, May 23, 2024.

Born on October 20, 1954, in Smithville, MO, to the late Calvin and Elizabeth Connett, Brint’s family moved to a farmstead outside of Gower in 1963. It was there that Brint’s love for farming began to flourish as he worked alongside his father. The farm became a local favorite for its pick-your-own orchards, strawberry patch, and then later a source of straw square bales along Highway 169, where the entire family played an active role.

Brint attended East Buchanan High School, excelling in football as an all-conference player and co-captain, and participating in track, band, and the FFA. He proudly served as class president for the graduating class of 1972.After a brief stint at the University of Missouri, Brint returned home to marry his high school sweetheart, Therese (Grier), on January 4, 1975. The couple welcomed two children, Lucas and Kelly. Brint was a dedicated father and later became the beloved “Pop” to his grandchildren, supporting every stage of their lives.

Throughout his career, Brint held various roles at Presto-X, New York Life Insurance, and Nestle Purina, retiring from BMS Logistics after 15 years. Despite these roles, his true passion remained farming, which he considered his primary occupation.

A committed member of the Gower community, Brint actively participated in the FFA Alumni and enjoyed attending local football and basketball games, especially those at MU and East Buchanan. His hobbies included going to auctions, weather-watching, tractor pulls, mushroom hunting, tinkering in his workshop, fishing, and enjoying trips with friends. He had a special fondness for green-painted tractors and cherished moments at home on the farm surrounded by his family.

Brint is survived by his wife, Therese; son, Lucas (Amanda) Connett; daughter, Kelly (Seth) Eschweiler; brother, Doug Connett; grandchildren, Claire, Caroline, and William Connett, and Mason and Weston Eschweiler; along with several extended family members and numerous friends.
