Bill Huebener
William A. Huebener, of Smithville, MO passed away, August 18, 2025.
Bill was born on May 2, 1948 to William A. and Mabel Huebener in St. Louis, MO. He moved to Los Angeles, CA when he was six years old with his parents and four sisters, Margarete, Mary Lou, Ruth and Helen. Bill attended the Lutheran school and church and Morningside High School.
Bill knew he would work on an aircraft when he was 10 years old. He would ride his bike to the Los Angeles Airport with a friend and watch the airplanes take off and land all day.
He joined the Air Force where he began his journey to become an airplane mechanic. He served two tours in Vietnam. Bill loved talking about his time in the Air Force. Bill continued his education in Los Angeles after the Air Force.
In 1972 Bill began working at TWA in Los Angeles as A&P mechanic. In 1979 he moved to Kansas City, MO with his wife Mary and two young sons, Adam W. Huebener and Jeffrey W. Huebener. In 1982 Bill moved to Saudi Arabia with his family to work as an A&P mechanic. While there he enjoyed scuba diving with his family and friends. In 1985 he returned to Kansas City and continued working at TWA. During that time, he trained and participated in the MS 150 with his wife and boys. Up at dawn riding their bikes all day.
Bill later became an A&P instructor at American Airlines. In 1992 he moved to St. Charles, MO with his wife Joyce Huebener, where he was supervisor of A&P mechanics in Education and Training.
In 2010 Bill moved to Smithville, MO for the remainder of his years. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Bill was a lover of all animals, especially Noodles and Molly. He called them his kids. Bill was a big fan of the Chiefs and Royals, and never missed a game.
Bill leaves behind two sons, Adam W. Huebener and Jeffrey W. (Beth) Huebener; their mother, Mary (Harold) Cason; grandchildren, Adam W. Junior, Abbie, Allison, Eli, Alexis (Jaxtin), Hailey and Kinsey; two stepchildren, Janel Lane and Malcolm (Laurie) Lockerby; step grandchildren, Brianna, Amiyah and Tashayla Jackson; sister, Helen Hanson and many nieces and nephews.
Memorial planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the KC Pet Project, Zona Rosa, 8721 Stoddard Ave, Kansas City, MO 64152.

I had the pleasure of working with him at TWA, possible one of the most talented electricians in the industry if he were as good a father and husband
As he was in his profession he was truly outstanding and I believe he was sorry to hear of his departure…

I have many memories of my Uncle Bill. All of them sweet. He always showed a cheerful demeanor and that picture of him accurately conveys his personality.
I recall that when I was around 10 years old, Uncle Bill took me to the area at LAX just outside the fence about as close as you could get to the runway to watch the big jets land. Then he took me to a bookstore and bought me a couple books on airplanes. As a young boy I too was fascinated with planes. Uncle Bill also gave me a tour of the planes being serviced where he worked for TWA. We were only 13 years apart in age so he was almost like a big brother.
