ZillaMary (Poage) Benton

ZillaMary Benton, 92 of Gower, MO passed away Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on July 23, 1921 to Albert and Daisy (Ruoff) Donaldson near Easton, MO where she grew up and graduated from Easton High School.

On February 2, 1943 she was united in marriage to Everett R. Poage   Her husband passed away on June 17, 1974.   On September 25, 1982 she married Keith R. Benton. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph.  Her husband, Keith, preceded her in death on March 22, 1999.

ZillaMary was a former member of the Wyatt Park Christian Church in St. Joseph and a member of the Gower Christian Church.   She was also member of the McDonald-Dugger-Duncan-Petree American Legion Auxilary Post #11.

ZillaMary was also preceded in death by her parents, sister Marcia Donaldson, brothers, Harry, Virgil and Lawrence Donaldson, step-daughter, Gwen Lukens, daughter-in-law, Ruth Poage and son-in-law, Dale Spencer.

She is survived by two daughters, Zellma Spencer and Joyce Zunga and husband Jose; sons, Lawrence Poage, Donald Poage and wife Terryon, and Roger Poage and wife Jayne; two step-daughters, Denise Benton and Rebecca Benton; numerous grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service:  2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 20^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Burial:  Mt. Zion Cemetery

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Donations:  Three Rivers Hospice or Gower Christian Church Building Fund.
