ZEKE CARPENTER
Cecil Ray “Zeke” Carpenter, 67 of Lawson, MO, passed away Thursday, November 23, 2006.
He was born on October 17, 1939 to Herman Dale and Margaret Bessie (Simkins) Carpenter in Enon, AR. In 1944 the family moved to southern Illinois where Zeke attended school.
On September 4, 1960 he was united in marriage to Joyce Phillips. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph, MO, Henderson, KY, and in 1976 they moved to Lawson, MO where they made their home.
Zeke worked for General Electric in North Kansas City, Atchison Foundation in Kansas City, and Westfall-Odell Motors in Excelsior Springs, MO.
He was baptized at the Lawson Assembly of God where he attended church. Zeke was an outdoorsman who loved all animals.
Zeke was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Jim Carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce of the home, children, Randy Carpenter and wife, Debbie, Excelsior Springs, Roger Carpenter and wife, Melinda, Lawson, Regina Horn and husband, Rick, Excelsior Springs, twelve grandchildren, Wesley, Christopher, Clayton, Misty, Amanda, David, Thomas Ray, Katy, Andrew, Aaron, Nikki, and Austin, eight great-grandchildren, Bailey, Jalyn, Bradon, Darion, Ezra, Brianna, Jade and Quinton, two brothers, Gene Carpenter and wife, Shirley, Clay City, Illinois, and Don Carpenter and wife, Glenda, Meadville, MO, two sisters, Billie Atchison and husband, Charlie and Mary Clark and husband, Lynn all of Kansas City, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday November 27th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
