Winifred May (Tyler) Barton

Winifred May Barton, 95, of Gower, passed away, Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on May 11, 1919 to Henry Virgil and Ora Virginia (Frans) Tyler in Gower, MO where she grew up and graduated from Gower High School. 

On December 9, 1939 she was united in marriage to Floyd Barton.  After their marriage they farmed near Easton where they made their home.  Her husband, Floyd, preceded her in death on January 13, 1988.

Winnie was a member of the Easton Presbyterian Church. She was also a member of the Stamper Club, the Easton Booster Club, and was active in 4-H.

Winnie was also preceded in death by her parents, and her sisters, Goldie Giddens, Irene Ruoff, Doris Cole.

She is survived by her son, Ron (Julie) Barton, Gower, MO; daughters, Linda (Gene) Lang, St. Joseph, MO; Connie (Jerry) Kerns, Easton, MO; six grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-granddaughters;  her brother, Gene Tyler.

Funeral Services:  2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 19^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Burial:  Blakely Cemetery, Easton.
