Wilma Mumford

Wilma Mumford, 89, of Gower, MO passed away, Monday January 2, 2017.

She was born on December 18, 1927 to Arch Claude and Mary Ann (Wadsworth) Graves near Gower, MO.  Wilma grew up near Gower and graduated from Gower High School in 1945.

On April 3, 1948 she was united in marriage to H. Monroe “Buck” Mumford.  After their marriage they lived near Gower on the farm, where they made their home.  Her husband, Buck, passed away, October 16, 1992.

Wilma was a secretary at the Gower High School and East Buchanan High School for over 40 years, retiring in 1990.

Wilma was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gower.

She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Wilma is survived by her son, Robert B. Mumford, and her sister, Louise Walkup; sisters-in-law, Leona Tanner and Alma Powell; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Friends and family may visit from 2:00-7:00 p.m. Thursday, January 5th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
