Wilma B. Smith
Wilma Bernice Smith, 99, of Kansas City, MO formerly of Lee’s Summit, passed away April 18, 2018 at the Garden’s on Barry Road where she resided for many years.
She was born on December 30, 1918 to Burie Alfred and Lona Myrtle (Lilley) Allen in Moberly, Missouri. She grew up in Farber, Missouri where she graduated from high school.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Independence and Lee’s Summit.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Forrest Glenwood Smith, two brothers and two sisters and son-in-law, Quenton Kerr.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Kerr, Kansas City, MO; and Judith Cheryl Olsen and husband Gary, Lee’s Summit, MO; granddaughters, Cathy Oasheim and husband Grant, Diana Burton and husband John, and Debby Henry; grandsons, Kevin Kerr and wife Kim and Mike Kerr; nine great-grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; forever faithful (family) friends, Gus and Bonnie Arbuckle; nephew, Ted Hesse; other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to thank the “angels” of Ascend Hospice for their loving care for the last years of Wilma’s life.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service Wednesday, April 25th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton
Burial: Ridgley Cemetery
