William R. “Bob” Martin

William R. “Bob” Martin, 69, of Platte City, MO passed away, Thursday, January 11, 2018.
 
He was born on February 7, 1948 to Leon Rudolph and Beverly Yvonne (Taylor) Martin in Lebanon, MO.  Bob grew up in Grayson and graduated from Gower High School in 1966.  He then attended University of Missouri Rolla where he received his Mechanical Engineering Degree.  Bob served in the U.S. Army Reserves for six years.
 
On April 9, 1994 he was united in marriage to Kathy Wolfe.  After their marriage they lived in Gower and in 2008 they moved to Platte City. Bob and Kathy attend Vineyard Church in Kansas City.
 
Bob worked for Mobil Oil for 5 years, he was an engineer for Construction Design Incorporated for 35 years and Free Country for 5 years, before retiring due to health issues.  
 
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Richard and sister, Pam.
 
Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, Candy Coy and husband Dewey, Rob Wolfe and wife, Cyndi, Rachael Mizener and husband J.C.; grandchildren, Leighton Coy, Alex Kelsey, Cameron Wolfe, Lily Mizener; brother, David Martin and wife Nancy; sisters, Jody Nelson and husband Mike and Beth Martin; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
 
As Bob would say “Life is Good.”
 
Celebration of Life:  2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 10th at the Platte County Fairgrounds.

    I always remember Bobby being kind and very helpful. We will miss him greatly but he is in a much better place now, free of pain and in the lords hands God bless his family you are in my prayers.
