William McKinley “Bill” Hawkins, Jr.
William McKinley “Bill“ Hawkins, Jr., 77, of Camden Point, Mo., passed away, Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his home.
He was born on September 6, 1929 to William M. and Bonnie (Schriver) Hawkins in St. Joseph, MO. Bill attended Camden Point High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
On January 27, 1951 he was united in marriage to Betty Ann Yates in Parkville, MO. After their marriage they lived in the Platte County area, later moving to Camden Point where they made their home.
Bill worked for the Veteran Administration Office in Leavenworth, KS for 32 years.
He was a member of the Hoover Christian Church. Bill enjoyed traveling in the motor home, attending Blue Grass Festivals and seeing the country.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother, Laura Miller Hawkins.
He is survived by his wife, Betty of 56 years, son, Lynn Hawkins and wife, Liz, Camden Point, daughter, Dena K. Boswell and fiance, David Nooning, Martin, GA, step-sister, Neva Kloepper, Littleton, CO, four grandchildren, Krystal Rushing and husband, Scott, Tiffany Divine, Tim Boswell and Joe Hawkins and fiance, Jill Fitzsimmons, five great-grandchildren, Tyler and Kelsey Rushing, Shelby and Blake Boswell, and McKinley Adamson, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 8th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton
Burial: Camden Point, MO Cemetery
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
