William M. “Bill” Meadows
William M. Meadows, Jr. 85, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away, Wednesday, May 25, 2011.
He was born on May 16, 1926 to William Miles and Vivian Maude (Ramey) Meadows in Marshall, MO. Bill graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, MO. He then served his country in the US Navy during WWII.
On October 2, 1954 he was united in marriage to Helen N. “Teanse” Nagle. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph where they made their home. His wife, Teanse, passed away, March 27, 2011.
Bill was an electrician and member of the IBEW # 545 for over 50 years working mostly for Pioneer Electric and Schultz Electric in St. Joseph. He was also a member of the American Legion Post #359 in St. Joseph for over 60 years.
He enjoyed fishing, reading and his coffee buddies at the mall. Bill loved spending time with his family at the Lake of the Ozarks.
He was also preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his daughters, Jan Ruoff and husband, Greg, Savannah, MO, and Shelley Williams and husband, Bill, St. Joseph; grandchildren, Mandy Klein and husband, Corey, and Bethany Ruoff; great-grandchildren, Emma and Trevor; sister, Ginny Jefferies, Leawood, KS; brother-in-law, Howard Nagle, St. Joseph, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial with Military Honors: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Red Cross.
