William Kenneth “Bill” Hollingsworth
William Kenneth “Bill” Hollingsworth, 82, of Smithville, MO, formerly of Ferrelview, MO passed away, Monday, October 26, 2009.
He was born on July 6, 1927 to George Washington and Bessie Grace (Moyer) Hollingsworth in Ferrelview, MO where he grew up and in 1945 graduated from Platte City High School. He then served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Ferrelview.
On June 7, 1947 he was united in marriage to Norma Lou Gillilland. After their marriage they lived in Ferrelview where they farmed and made their home. In 2008 they moved to Smithville.
Bill was a member of the Ferrelview Christian Church, Ararat Shrine, and the Masonic Lodge both in Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, David and one sister Anna Faye.
Bill is survived by his wife, Norma of the home, two daughters, Linda McCaslin and husband Gary, Ferrelview, MO; Kelly Turner and husband Gary, Smithville, MO; one grandson, Bradley Turner; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 29th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
Burial: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, MO
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 28th at the Funeral Home.
