William H. “Hal” McCravey

William H. “Hal” McCravey, 52, of Savannah, MO formerly of Gower, MO passed away Sunday, November 24, 2013.

 

He was born on January 9, 1961 to William R and Mary B. (Barrett) McCravey in St. Joseph, MO.  Hal grew up in Gower and graduated from East Buchanan High School.  Hal served his country in the US Military for 4 years.  He volunteered at the VA Hospital and was a member of the American Legion and the Patriot Guard Riders.

 

On October 3, 1982 he was united in marriage Rita J. Auxier.  Hal was a security guard for local Casinos.  He loved riding and collecting motorcycles and collecting guns and coins.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

Hal is survived by his children, William R. “Billy” McCravey, St. Joseph, MO and Tanya M. McCravey, Savannah, MO; his children’s mother, Rita J. McCravey;  grandson, William D. “Donny” McCravey; brother, Lewis McCravey, St. Joseph, MO; sister, Reanna Goodman and husband Benny, Iowa; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower

Visitation:  6:30-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial:  Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO

Donations may be made to the March of Dimes.

    I ran around with Hal when we were in our late teens. There were 4 of us, Hal, Myself, Ace and Doug. We got in our fair share of trouble, but nothing to bad. Hal will be missed. He was a good guy.
