William “Brec” Morton
William“Brec” Morton, 65, of Kansas City, MO passed away April 9, 2017.
William “Brec” Morton was born on December 1, 1951, and adopted by Thelma and William Morton on May 28, 1952. Brec was an eagle scout and attended North Kansas City High School where he won numerous art awards. He graduated from William Jewell College with a dual degree.
Brec held an assortment of jobs over the years, starting with custom cabinet making and ending with working for Mid America Mortgage, before he retired. Brec was preceded in death by his father, Dr. William Morton.
Brec is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy; mother, Thelma Morton; brother, Marcus Morton and wife April; step-sons, Daniel Pattison and wife Latisha and Ryan Pattison; sister and brother-in-law, Ellen and Michael Born; nieces, Sophie Morton Effler, Theresa, Jamie and Dusty Garrison; nephew, Brendan Born; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, David and Olga Garrison; and many wonderful friends.
He was a kind and gentle soul. We ask that you celebrate his life with a random act of kindness.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 25th with visitation one hour prior at Platte Woods United Methodist Church, 7310 NW Prairieview Rd., Platte Woods, MO 64151.Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.

Cindy, I’m so sorry. Brec worked with me at KRC radio at Rockhurst and we also worked together on theater productions…he was our Mercutio. But most of all, he had been a supportive voice on my Facebook page since my husband’s unexpected death five months ago. If you would like to reach out at all please feel free to do so.
