William B. “Slick” Monteil
William B. “Slick” Monteil, 60, of Platte City, MO passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012.
He was born on July 2, 1952 in Kansas City, MO To Frederick H and Francis B (Gaither) Monteil. Slick was raised on the family farm in rural Platte County. In 1970 he graduated from Park Hill High School. He then served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.
On February 19, 1983 he was united in marriage to Cynthia Joan Pyle. After their marriage they lived in Rockville, MO and settled in Platte City where they made their home.
Slick worked as a Hod Carrier for 30 years for various contractors. He threw horse shoes and loved croquet . He was a high school wrestler and coached many children including his own sons. Slick was an avid Chiefs fan making every Sunday a Chiefs Sunday, never missing a game.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Kathy Cook and Susie Deily.
Slick is survived by his wife, Cindy; children, Domonic Monteil and fiance Brandi, Brian Monteil and wife Niki, Jacob Monteil, Nikki Monteil; grandchildren, Colin, Calli, Shelby, Brodie, Brooklyn, Gage, and Clayton; brother Fred Monteil and wife Linda; sisters Mary Lynne Beck and husband Dan, Sharon Aring and husband Dale, Helen Betts and husband Jim, Johannah Johnson and husband Mike; brothers and sisters-in-law, Tony Pyle, Linda Gerner and husband Jeff, Jody “The Geek” Pyle, Connie Winsor and husband Rodger, Cathy Roberts and husband Rob, John Pyle; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Celebration of Life: 2:00 p.m. Friday November 2nd at Hoover Christian Church
Inurnment: 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 5th at Missouri State Cemetery, Higginsville, MO
