Willard Alvin “Dub” Justus
Willard Alvin ?Dub? Justus, 87, of Polo, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2008 at Liberty Hospital.
He was born on January 17, 1921 to Eddie F. and Cecil Frances (Walker) Justus in Clay County where he grew up and graduated from Smithville High School. He then served his country in the US Army during WWII. After his honorable discharge he returned to Smithville.
On April 20, 1951 he was united in marriage to Mary Ruth. After their marriage they lived in Trimble, and in 1963 they moved to Polo where they made their home. His wife, Mary, passed away, March 7, 2006.
He was a member of the American Legion Post in Hamilton.
Dub was also preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by one son, Garland R. Shepard and wife, Patricia, Cameron, MO, two grandsons, Patrick Shepard, Columbia, MO, and Michael Shepard and wife, Stephanie, Republic, MO, two great-grandchildren, Simeon and Gwen, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 5th at the Prairie Ridge Christian Union Church, Polo, MO with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial with Military Honors: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower.
