Wiliam Carlton Murphy

William Carlton “Bill” Murphy, 83, of St. Joseph, MO, formerly of Denver, CO, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010.

He was born on August 5, 1927 to William Albin and Olive Myrtle (Hedger) Murphy in Long Beach, CA. Bill resided in California and Colorado most his life.

Bill served his country in the US Merchant Marines. He worked as a Design Engineer at Air Research in California. Bill then moved to Colorado where he was a construction supervisor and designer. After his retirement he moved to St. Joseph, MO.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret; his parents, William and Olive Murphy; brother, Thomas Murphy and great-granddaughter, Olivia.

Bill is survived by his wife, Donna; children, Bill Murphy and wife, Cindy, Aurora, CO, Don Murphy and wife, Cheryl, Oceanside, CA, Eileen Wiedmaier and husband Alan, Agency, MO, Natalie Graves and husband Ray, Tulsa, OK and Susan Benson and husband, Trevor, Denver, CO; six grandchildren, Shannon, Shawn, Christopher, Hilary, Andrea and Becky; three great-grandchildren, Alexa, Craig and Avery; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower
