Wanda Utz

Wanda Lee Utz, 90, of Gower, MO passed away, January 22, 2024.

She was born on April 25, 1933 to Teddy and Mildred (Todd) Bray in Louisburg, KS. She grew up in the Plattsburg area and graduated from Plattsburg High School.

On February 18, 1951, she was united in marriage to Eugene G. Utz. After their marriage they lived in Plattsburg. In 1967, they moved to their farm near Gower where they made their home. Her husband preceded her in death on September 7, 2017.

Wanda was a member of the Prairie Flower Club and was a 4-H Leader. Wanda loved quilting and attending auctions.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Gwyn Utz; great-granddaughter, Courtney Proffit; daughter-in-law, Beverly Utz; brother, Tom Carrington; and sister, Betty Hopkins.

Wanda is survived by her sons, Teddy (Linda) Utz, Timmy (Vicki) Utz and Tony (Deanna) Utz; daughter, Tammi Utz; grandchildren, Tabatha Proffit, Sarah (Brian) Gamet, Josh (Annie) Utz, Matt (Stephanie) Utz, Travis (Devin) Utz, Tyson (Stacey) Utz, Taci (Scott) Snyder, and Jessica Engelbrecht; great-grandchildren, Cody, Jake, Riley, Lindsey (William), Desirae, Tucker, Lily, Cordila, Josie, Carson, Cameron, Caroline, Gavin, Brooklyn, Hadley, Hudson, Hank, Wren, Autumn, Trinity, Denver and Abilene; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday , February 2nd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.  Visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial: Allen Cemetery.

    To my dear Utz family, I can’t tell you how sorry I was to see the notice of Wanda’s passing. I have a lifetime of memories of good times shared with Wanda , Eugene ,nieces and nephews.
