Wanda Irene (Knox) Morris

Wanda Irene Morris, 84, of Lathrop, MO passed away, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at her home.

 

She was born on January 9, 1929 to Charlie Lester and Wilma Pauline (Mynatt) Knox in North Kansas City, MO.  She graduated from North Kansas City High School and attended William Jewell College.

 

On October 18, 1947 she was united in marriage to Arthur P. Morris in Claycomo, MO.  After their marriage they lived at various military duty stations.  They lived in Kansas City and moved to Lawson in 1978 where they made their home.  Her husband, Arthur, passed away July 21, 1995, and Wanda then moved to Lathrop.

 

Wanda was also preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Knox.          

 

She is survived by her son, Dan Morris, Lathrop, MO; daughter, Paula Hinkle and husband Mark, Lathrop, MO; four grandchildren, Aaron Morris, April Schweizer, Alan Bixler, and Lindsey Porter; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Lila Hunt, Betty Johnson, and Debbie Tilsworth and husband Ron; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 11^th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, MO.

Burial:  Crown Hill Cemetery, Excelsior Springs, MO

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
