Walter Bruce Johnson, Jr.
Walter Bruce Johnson, Jr., 70, of Dearborn, MO, passed away, Friday, June 15, 2007 as the result of a vehicle accident.
He was born on November 23, 1936 to Walter Bruce, Sr. and Ruth Ann (Reynolds) Johnson in Kansas City, MO, where he grew up and attended school. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, retiring in 1978 after 20 years of service. Walter also graduated from Troy State in Alabama with a Bachelors Degree in Business.
On July 1, 1956 he was united in marriage to Margaret Jones. After their marriage they were stationed all over the world, and in 1979 they moved to rural Dearborn where they made their home.
Walter was an independent truck driver for many years, and worked for the city of Edgerton until his death. He also volunteered his time to help the citizens of Edgerton and Dearborn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Walter is survived by his wife, Margaret, of the home; son, Mark Johnson and wife, Gail, Wheaton, IL; daughter, Anita Jolly and husband, Jerry, Dearborn, MO; three grandchildren, Clint and Matt Jolly, and Melissa Johnson; brother, Ron Johnson and wife, Mary, Tyler, TX; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 7:00 p.m. Sunday (tonight) at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, with visitation following until 9:00 p.m.
Private Family Burial will be held at Stony Point Cemetery in Trimble.
Donations may be made to the cemetery or St. Joseph Youth Alliance.
