Virginia P. Ralston
Virginia P. Ralston, 85, of Edgerton, MO passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2007.
She was born on August 18, 1921 to Earl and Birdie Helen (Tanner) Foster in Dearborn, MO where she grew up and attended school. Virginia then served her country in the US Army during WWII.
On May 15, 1944 while in the US Army Virginia was united in marriage to Elmer Rae Ralston. After the war, they made their home on a family farm in Ridgely, MO where they raised five children, sheep, chickens, pigs, black angus cattle and numerous family pets.
Virginia was a member of the Ridgley Christian Church in Edgerton, the Smithville Christian Church, the Daniel-Shafer American Legion Post in Edgerton, and was a 4-H leader. She also served on the Platte County Planning and Zoning Board and was a City Clerk of the Village of Ridgely for many years. Virginia was a homemaker the entire time her children were at home then she went to work for the IRS as a tax examiner.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Elmer Rae, her mother and father and two brothers, Irvin Foster and Earl Foster, Jr.
She leaves behind her daughters, Pat Denney and husband, Jim, Edgerton, Kay Kropff and husband, Stan, Canyon, TX, and Marsha Hoffhines and husband, Bob, Salina, KS; sons, Randy Ralston and wife, Linda, Dearborn and Danny Ralston, Edgerton; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Laura Lee West, Smithville, MO; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, July 15th at the Ridgely Christian Church, Ridgely
Burial with Military Honors: Ridgely Cemetery
Visitation: 12:00 (noon) -1:00 p.m. prior to the service on Sunday at the church.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ridgely Christian Church or Crossroads Hospice.
