Virginia Lee (Nix) Stewart
Virginia was born on September 23, 1932 in North Little Rock, Arkansas. She lived there until being swept off her feet by her love and life partner of more than 60 years, Ray. Virginia enjoyed traveling, visiting nearly every state in the country. She especially enjoyed her travels by motorcycle which she rode along with Ray all of her life. Some of her favorite places to visit were Las Vegas, Branson and all over California. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, she lived her life for her family. Her caring and concern for others was amazing. She gave generously to others in need in any way she could and was always there to lend her shoulder. Virginia was one of the most tender-hearted women who ever walked this planet. Now she is walking in Heaven with the angels. She touched the lives of so many and knowing her changed you in some wonderful way. Unforgettable and irreplaceable, she will live in our hearts forever.Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Loyd and Mattie Lee Nix, her sister, Carrie Carlisle, beloved daughter, Debbie Lynn Stewart, and grandchildren Lana Marie Getz and Dustin James Getz.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Ray Stewart, Kansas City, MO; son Richard Stewart and wife Marilyn, North Kansas City, MO, son Ronald Stewart and wife Lisa, Kearney MO; daughter Patsy Rosenbaugh, Gladstone, MO; daughter Rita Koerner and husband Bill, Dearborn, MO; sister Marilyn Richardson and husband Bobby, Sheridan, AR; grandchildren, Melanie Johnston and husband Jeff of Pittsburg, PA; Michael Stewart and wife Teresa; Brittany and Nicole Rosenbaugh; Christopher, Jennifer, Nicholas, Joshua, Matthew, and Miranda Stewart; great grandchildren, Ashley Getz, Landon and Grace Martin, Clynton and Brayson Stewart, Corbin Rosenbaugh, Khloe Light, Chance Hopka, Brayden Stewart, Damien Issac; Nephew Robert Richardson and her constant companion, Jenny Rae, her little miniature pinscher.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery
