Virgil Eugene “Gene” Tyler

 

Virgil
Eugene “Gene” Tyler, 90, of Gower, MO passed away Thursday, June 18, 2015.

 

He
was born on August 8, 1924 to Henry Virgil and Ora Virginia (Frans) Tyler in
rural Gower, MO where he grew up and graduated from Gower High School.  Gene served his country in the US Army Air
Corps. 

 

Gene
worked for Owen John Deere in St. Joseph and later retired from Kenworth Truck
Company in Kansas City, MO.  In 1992 Gene
became a member of the Lathrop Congregation of Jehovah Witness where he served
as a Ministerial Servant in the Congregation. 
He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid reader. 

 

He
was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Goldie Giddens, Irene Ruoff,
Winifred Barton, and Doris Cole; nephew Jerry Giddens and niece Cheryl Burgess.

 

Gene
is survived by nieces and nephews Joyce Hatchette, Jane Giddens, Jim Middleton,
Janice Heath, David Ruoff, Linda Lang, Connie Kerns, Ron Barton and Rick Cole;
numerous great-nieces and nephews; special neighbor Roger Mead and family;
other relatives and many friends.

Services and Inurnment:  6:00 p.m.
Monday, June 22^nd at Allen Cemetery Gower, MO.

Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 27^th at the Kingdom Hall Jehovah
Witness, Lathrop, MO
