Viola (Appleget) Whitworth

Viola Whitworth, 80, of Smithville, MO passed away, Wednesday, September 17, 2008.

She was born on July 13, 1928 to William and Ethel Mae (Parish) Appleget in Waseca, Minnesota.

On February 11, 1949 she was united in marriage to Donald E. Whitworth. After their marriage they lived in the Kansas City area. Her husband, Donald passed away on November 25, 2004.

Vi was a homemaker who loved to garden, bake and dearly loved her Yorkies.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Wilmar, Charles and Richard Appleget.

Vi is survived by daughter, Cheri Gilstrap and husband, Rick, Smithville, MO; son, Rick Whitworth and wife, Liz, Pueblo, CO; six grandchildren, Kim and husband, Darrell, David and wife, Diana, Angel and husband, Mike, Shelvin and wife, Heather, Daniel and Nicholas; twelve great-grandchildren, Nathan, Jacob, Cameron, Kymie, Ethan, Sara, Joshua, Jordan, Alexis, Ricci, Michael and Angelina; sisters, Myra Peiffer and husband, Dick, Iowa, Laurena Hammes, Nebraska; sisters-in-law, Gwen DeRuyter, Grandview, MO, Iris Green and husband, Kenneth, Hawaii, and Mary Whitworth, Lee’s Summit, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 20^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.

Burial: 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Clinton Memory Gardens Cemetery, Clinton, MO
