Vernon L. Klenk

Vernon L. Klenk, 76, of Faucett, MO, passed away Friday, October 18, 2013.

 

He was born on May 16, 1937 to Robert and Marie (Pennell) Klenk in Tama County, Iowa. 

 

On December 6, 1997 he was united in marriage to Donna (Stanton) Singleton.  After their marriage they made their home near Faucett.

 

Vernon was an over the rode truck driver for Barlow for many years, and recently worked for the U.S. Pipeline.

 

He attended New Harvest Baptist Church.  Vernon was a volunteer fireman for South-Central Fire Department.

 

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Pearl Wilkerson, brothers, Arlen and John Klenk, and step-daughter, Nancy Springs.

 

He is survived by wife, Donna; children, Eva (Bryan) Thompson, Laina (Paul) Shuman, Teresa McFarlane, Verlan (Claudia) Klenk, Donetta (Bob) Auen, Coreena Klenk, and Michael (Mandy) Klenk; step-children, Deborah (Darrell) Treat, Jamie (Charles) Ruede, and James (Heather) Singleton; step son-in-law, Larry Springs; grandchildren, Andrea, Rachel, Taylor, Josiah, Victoria, Joshua, Justin, Christopher, Thomas, Ashley, Benjamin, Jessica, Miranda, Ralph, Sierra, Dakota and Meadow; step-grandchildren, Andrew, Erica, Jonathan, Braeden, Jennifer, Josh, and Jeremiah; numerous great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Arlene (Alvin) Craun, Roberta Fricke, Evan Klenk, and La Rue (Steve) Reis; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Service:  6:00 p.m. Monday, October 21st at McCarthy Baptist Church in St. Joseph with visitation following until 8:30 p.m.

Graveside Service:  2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Toledo, IA.
