Vera Pollard

Vera Louise Pollard, 91, of Trimble, MO passed away, September 19, 2021.

She was born on March 7, 1930 to Elmer and Mary Lou (Scott) West in Armorel, AR. Vera grew up and graduated high school in Arbyrd, MO. She then attended Arkansas State University where she received her teaching degree. On July 24, 1948 she was united in marriage to Rayford M. Pollard, Jr. After their marriage they lived in southeast Missouri and St. Louis, and in 1966 they moved to Platte City where she taught school at Platte County R-3. In 2005 they moved to Trimble. Her husband, Ray, preceded her in death on January 17, 2017.She was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.

Vera was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Destil West, Sonny West, and Donnie West; sister, Shirley Starmann; infant sister, Janice West; granddaughter, Grace McClure; and son-in-law, Dennis McClure.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mary Miller and husband, Henry, Weston, MO, and Carol McClure, Liberty, MO; two granddaughters, Melanie Bauer and husband Shawn and Elizabeth McClure; one great-granddaughter, Meghan Anderson and husband Josh; great-great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Susannah; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 23rd at Mt Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Ridgely Cemetery.

Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.

Donations may be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cement Fund.
