VELMA PULLIAM

Velma Jean Pulliam, 62, of Edgerton, MO, passed away, Wednesday, February 8, 2006.

She was born on March 24, 1943 to William Eugene and Edna Louise (Boydston) Masoner in Smithville, MO. Velma grew up in Edgerton and graduated from North Platte High School in 1961 where she was salutatorian and homecoming queen.

On February 23, 1978 she was united in marriage to Don Pulliam. After their marriage they lived near Edgerton where they made their home.

Velma worked for Cook Paint and Varnish in North Kansas City for over 40 years, retiring in 1999.

She attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents and one nephew, Michael Masoner.

She is survived by her husband, Don, of the home, children, John Riddle and wife, Gina, Blue Springs, MO, Jim Riddle, Edgerton, MO, Karla Austin and husband, Jim, Wylie, TX, Brent Pulliam, Smithville, MO, and Ryan Pulliam, Lawson, MO, grandchildren, Alex and Shannon Pulliam, Brett Austin, Michael Riddle, and Sara Shultz, one brother, Chuggy Masoner and wife, Carolyn, and one sister, Bettie Masoner, all of Edgerton, MO, several nieces and nephews, including, Steven Masoner, and Kendra Masoner and her son, Hank, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Edgerton.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
