Velma May Perkins

Velma May Perkins, 70, of Gower, MO, passed away, Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at Oakridge in Plattsburg.

She was born on October 28, 1938 to Jesse Bryan and Ione Christine (Mitchell) Perkins near Starfield, MO. She grew up in the Starfield area and graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1956. Velma then attended Platte Gard College in St. Joseph.

She worked for Unitog in Plattsburg as an inspection supervisor.

Velma was a member of the Mt. Zion Freewill Baptist Church near Gower where she served as treasurer for several years.

Velma was preceded in death by her parents.

Velma is survived by her brother, Raymond Perkins and wife, Virginia, Gower; one niece, Romona Young and husband, Dean, Smithville; great-niece, Ann and great-nephew, Jesse; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 19^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower, MO.
