Velma “Deannie” Woolsey
Velma “Deannie” Woolsey, 94, of Smithville, MO passed away, Monday, August 26, 2019.
She was born on August 4, 1925 to Delmas Earl and Beryl Irene (Bewley) Rose in La Junta, Colorado. She grew up near Kim, Colorado where she graduated high school. Deannie later attended St. Luke’s Nursing School in Kansas City, MO.
Deannie lived near Smithville, Platte City and Edgerton and in 2001 moved to Smithville.
She was an LPN for Spelman Memorial Hospital for over 20 years.
Deannie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Reisinger; brother, Buck Rose; sister, Margaret Horn; her children’s father, Thomas Michael Reisinger; husband, Louis “Red” Woolsey; special friend, Herschel Warford; great-grandson, Jesse James Alexander.
She is survived by her children, Janice Benton, Tom Reisinger and wife Peggy, Kim (Tim) Foster, and Kris Ward; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandsons; sisters, Ione Stroup and Maxine Hennis; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:30 p.m. Friday, August 30th with visitation from 1:00-2:30 p.m. prior to the service at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville.
Burial: Ridgely Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Ridgely Cemetery.

I’m so sorry about the passing of Aunt Deannie. She and my mother (Margaret Horn) talked about Christ and her need to trust Christ as her Savior, which she did over 20 years ago. Because of that decision, I know we’ll see her in Heaven. May the Lord give your family peace and comfort at this time.
