Troy Frederick Trauernicht

Troy Frederick Trauernicht, 75 of Cameron, MO, formerly of Gower, MO passed away, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at his home.

He was born on March 18, 1937 to Thomas F. and Mae (Rhinehart) Trauernicht in Shawnee, Oklahoma. In 1948 the family moved to St. Joseph and Troy graduated from Lafayette High School where he was active in the ROTC. He then joined the Army Reserves in which he served for 28 years.

On July 22, 1977 he was united in marriage to Martha Ann Rogers in Gower. After their marriage they lived in Gower until 1990 when they moved to rural Trimble. His wife, Martha, preceded him in death on November 21, 1995 and Troy later returned to Gower.

Troy worked for Norris Trash Service in St. Joseph, E & M Ready Mix in Gower and was maintenance man at McDonald’s in Smithville, Platte City, Gladstone, Barry Road Kansas City and Interstate 29 McDonald’s in St. Joseph.

He was baptized and a member of the Baptist Faith.

Troy was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Tom Trauernicht.

He is survived by his dear friend Kathy Buchanan, Cameron, MO; two brothers, Earl Trauernicht and Bill Trauernicht, both of St. Joseph; children, Josh Buchanan and wife Cindy, Fred Trauernicht and wife Carolyn, Rea, MO, Cindy Trauernicht, St. Joseph, MO and Lora Wallace and husband Dale, Maysville, MO; granddaughter who was raised by Troy and Martha, Rebecca Miller and husband Daniel, Florida; grandchildren, Christopher Buchanan, Scott Buchanan, Jennifer Oitker, Sarah Ellis, Gregory Trauernicht, Dannie Trauernicht, Kimberly Trauernicht, Tabatha Berbick, Carl Pawling, and Shanin Pawling; twenty-one great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 4th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower with visitation from 2:00-3:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial with Military Honors: Winston Cemetery, Winston, MO
