Treva Dee Burk was loving, kind, caring, stubborn, independent, moral, ethical, a Jesus lover and follower, a great wife, mom, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, …. opinionated, selfless, out spoken, demanding, a helper, a fighter for what is right… and is celebrating as she graduated to heaven to be with those gone before her and especially her God and Savior!
Treva was born in Lake City, Iowa on May 1, 1939, to Harold and Rhea Brown and married Jim Burk (James) on June 1, 1957 in Lohrville, Iowa. They welcomed their first child a year later and second 18 months after that. She attended NWMSU where she received her bachelor’s degree in education. After graduation they moved to Kansas City, Mo where she began her teaching career in North Kansas City School District, and she taught there until she retired. Treva also received her master’s degree in counseling in 1982.
Treva was involved in her church life and participated in studies, prayer, and fellowship with others. She volunteered at a local care facility visiting residents and providing assistance and cheer.
Treva touched the lives of many and will be missed and forever. She will be cherished by her family and friends.
