Tom Ross
Thomas George Ross, 80, of Gladstone, MO passed away February 24, 2021.
He was born in Youngstown, OH on September 28, 1940. His family moved to Long Beach, California when Tom was 3 where he grew up and graduated from high school. On May 1, 1967 he joined the Long Beach Police Department where he served as a Police Officer until his retirement in September 1995. He and his wife Jeanette moved to St. Joseph, MO where she was born and raised to care for her parents. Tom didn’t feel he was through being an officer and helping people, so he joined the Smithville Missouri Police Department in November 1995. When age finally caught up with him, he retired from the Smithville Police Department in March of 2014.
Tom loved bowling and fishing but most of all he loved being a Police Officer. He was a man of honesty and integrity.
He was preceded in death by his parents James and Helen Ross; brothers Sonny, Richard, Jerry and Donald Ross.
Tom is survived by his wife Jeanette (Jeschke) Ross; two step-daughters Angela Mollus and Shannon Mollus; three children T.J. Ross, Andrea Vigil and Alissa Ross; one sister Mary Lou Miller; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 2:00-3:00 p.m. with Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 28th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Donations may be made to Jeannette for the care of Angela Mollus who has Prader-Willie Syndrome.
