Theodore C. Stallman
Theodore Clarence Stallman, 75, of Smithville, MO passed away February 4, 2014 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.
He was born on June 11, 1938 in White Earth, MN to Clarence Leonard and Grace (Johnson) Stallman. Ted grew up in Detroit Lakes, MN. He graduated from high school in 1957. After high school he attended one year of college in Moorhead. He then joined the Air National Guard, serving his country for four years.
Ted married Jeanne Unger in 1960 in Oberlin, KS. From this union, five children were born: Tim, David, John, Michelle, and Valerie. They divorced in 1982. Ted married Jean Vacca in 1984. He adopted Jean’s children: Jessica, Frances, and Stacia. Briana was born in 1985.
Ted was a successful businessman, carpenter, and farmer as well as a beloved friend, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Arthur and Leonard, and his grandson, Jordan McMullen.
Ted is survived by his wife, Jean, of the home; children, Tim Stallman, Oberlin, KS, David Stallman, Denver, CO, John (Brandy) Stallman, Olathe, KS, Michelle (Jamy) Hurren, Salina, KS, Valerie Stallman, Longmont, CO, Jessica (Brian) Helmich, Edmond, OK, Frances (Ben) Schilling, Kansas City, MO, Stacia Stallman, Kearney, MO, and Briana Stallman, Omaha, NE; grandchildren, Jennifer Crawford, Brent Stallman, Jake Stallman, Carlye Campbell, Mandee Stallman, Shae Georgeson, JoLee and Jalee Hurren, Christopher Rotunno, Ashlyn, Isaac, and Ava Helmich, Logan and Mackenzie Schilling, Danielle Stallman, Makayla Stallman, and Lillian Yates; great-grandchildren, Lilah Crawford, Riley and Bailey Rotunno. Ted is also survived by his siblings, Darlene, Claryce, Ronald, Eugene, Gary, Clarence, and Rena; other relatives and many friends.
Rosary: 9:30 a.m. with visitation following: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8th at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Smithville, MO
Burial: Paradise Cemetery.
Arrangements, Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to a dear family friend, Sally Yendrick, to defray medical expenses.
