Steven James Vassar

Steve Vassar, 54, of Kansas City, MO, passed away, Friday, February 11, 2011.

He was born on December 8, 1956 to John Junior and Eva Blanche (Bollmeyer) Vassar in Kansas City, MO. Steve grew up in the Liberty area and graduated from Liberty High School in 1975.

On August 12, 1977 he was united in marriage to Lisa Gail Chrisman. After their marriage they lived in the Liberty area and in 1984 they moved to Excelsior Springs where they made their home. His wife, Lisa, passed away, February 21, 2010.

Steve worked for the North Kansas City School District for over 20 years. He was most proud of being a Dad and Grandpa, and loved his family dearly.

He was also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Charlotte Ann Chrisman.

Steve is survived by two daughters, Carla Ryan and Becca Keeley and husband, Jeff; grandchildren, Regan and Reece; parents, John and Eva Vassar; three brothers, Wayne Vassar and wife, Linda, Roger Vassar, and Bill Vassar and wife, Cathy; sister, Janice Swalley and husband, Basil; father-in-law, Jack Chrisman and wife, Louise; brother-in-law, Joe Chrisman; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Service: 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15^th at Grace Community Church, Smithville.
