Steven Dale “Buck” Buckler
Steven Dale “Buck” Buckler, 62, of Dearborn, MO passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
He was born on May 11, 1952 to Truman Lee and Helen Ann (Anderson) Buckler in St. Joseph, MO. Steve grew up in Dearborn. In 1970 he graduated from North Platte High School where he was a star football player. In 1969 he met his high school sweet heart, Victoria Ann Wenzel, and they were united in marriage on October 28, 1972. After their marriage they lived in Dearborn where they made their home.
Steve was a member of the NRA and served as an alderman for the City of Dearborn. He was a softball coach and was an avid supporter of youth sports. Steve loved being with his family and friends and especially spending time with his grandchildren who called him Poppie. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in his shop.
Steve worked many years at DeBruce Ag in Dearborn and also owned and operated his own shop.
He was preceded in death by his mother Helen Ann Buckler, grandmother Rosie Dawson, brother Raymond Buckler, nephew Mark Shanks and in-laws Bill and Barbara Wenzel.
Steve is survived by his wife Vickie Buckler; children Jeremy Buckler and wife Megan and Amy Acock and husband Scott; grandchildren Audrey, Hudson, Shelby and Jake; father Truman Lee Buckler and wife Betty; brother Lonnie Buckler and wife Misti; sister Debbie Shanks and husband Larry; brothers-in-law and sisters in-law Bennie Wenzel and wife Becky and Deb Wenzel; nieces and nephews Gloria and wife Carrie, Tricia, Natasha, Addie, Emilee, B.R. and Brock; step-sister Teri Peck and husband Todd; step-brother Bill Huntsman; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 22nd at the Dearborn United Methodist Church
Burial: Dearborn Cemetery
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Dearborn United Methodist Church
Donations: John Wayne Museum or North Platte Foundation for the Steve Buckler Scholarship.
